Prep: 10 mins · Serves: 2
Fresh ginger and dry ginger flakes bring different textures and flavours to a drink.
Fresh ginger is bright and sharp. Dry ginger flakes are mellow, steady, and easy to simmer. This kadha uses the flakes as its base, with lemon for brightness and honey for balance.
A warm cup with ginger depth, lemon brightness, and nothing complicated.
What You Need
- 2 cups water
- 4 to 5 Dry Ginger Flakes from Sendriya Life
- Juice of half a lemon
- Honey to taste
- A pinch of Himalayan Pink Rock Salt, optional
How to Make It
- Add the dry ginger flakes to cold water in a saucepan so they infuse gradually as the water heats.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer on medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and strain.
- Add lemon juice and a pinch of salt if you like.
- Let the drink cool slightly, add honey to taste, and serve warm.
Why Whole Flakes?
Flakes are easy to measure, easy to strain, and convenient for slow simmering. They give the drink natural ginger flavour without leaving powder at the bottom of the cup.
